Our commitment
to CEDIA.
CEDIA is the global association for smart home professionals. Kolosseum is a member, an active contributor to APAC standards development, and an advocate for the credential and community it represents.
Inside the room where standards are made.
CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association) is the global trade association for companies that design, specify, and install consumer electronics solutions for the home. Founded in 1989, CEDIA represents over 3,500 member companies worldwide and is the authoritative body for residential technology standards in the APAC region.
Kolosseum is a long-standing CEDIA member. Our founder has served as an official judge for CEDIA Home Cinema Awards in the Asia-Pacific region, reviewing completed installations at the highest level of the discipline and contributing to the elevation of the standard across the region.
The documentation Kolosseum produces is written to CEDIA Recommended Practice. When your integrator receives a Kolosseum drawing set, they are receiving a document built on the same standards that govern the industry's most recognised projects.

CEDIA Industry Event
ANSI-accredited. Internationally recognised.
CEDIA Recommended Practices are the engineering documents that define how the world's best residential technology systems are designed. Kolosseum builds to these standards on every engagement.
Immersive Audio Design
The definitive ANSI-accredited recommended practice for the design of immersive audio systems in residential environments, covering room geometry, speaker placement, bass management, and acoustic treatment methodology. Every Kolosseum cinema brief is designed to RP-22.
Video System Design
Recommended practice governing display selection, calibration targets, viewing geometry, and screen sizing for residential video systems. Ensures that the image the client sees was designed, not guessed.
Manufacturer Specifications
The foundational practice establishing how manufacturer data is interpreted and applied in system design, ensuring that equipment selection is grounded in verified performance specifications rather than marketing material.
System Testing & Commissioning
Recommended practice for the structured testing and verification of installed systems. Defines what a completed project actually looks like, measurement protocols, acceptance criteria, and sign-off documentation.
Credentials that travel with the individual.
CEDIA certifications are held by the person, not the company. They are ANAB-accredited to ISO/IEC 17024, the international standard for personnel certification, and must be renewed every three years through demonstrated continuing professional development.
Cabling & Infrastructure Technician
The CIT certification is the foundational credential for smart home technicians. It validates competence in the physical infrastructure layer, cable selection, termination practices, conduit management, and low-voltage wiring to best-practice standards. ANAB-accredited to ISO/IEC 17024.
What it means in practice
A CIT-certified technician is qualified to perform all infrastructure wiring for limited-energy technology systems in residential and commercial settings to a verified, consistent standard.
Integrated Systems Technician
The IST is the professional-level credential for integrators who work independently across the full lifecycle of an installation, from first fix (pre-wire) through trim-out (second fix) and system verification. ANAB-accredited to ISO/IEC 17024.
What it means in practice
An IST-certified technician can mount, install, and commission a wide range of home technology equipment, troubleshoot common failures, and verify system functionality against the design intent.
The firms who lead their market are almost always members.
CEDIA membership is not a certificate on a wall. It is access to the standards, the education, the network, and the awards programme that define the top tier of the residential technology industry.
Industry Credibility
CEDIA membership and certification signals to clients, architects, and builders that your firm operates to a verified professional standard, not just a claimed one.
Standards Access
Members receive access to CEDIA Recommended Practices, the ANSI-accredited documents that define how the world's best systems are designed and installed.
Awards & Recognition
CEDIA's Smart Home Awards are the highest recognition in the residential technology industry. Membership is the first step toward entering and winning.
APAC Network
Connect with the APAC community of integrators, manufacturers, and educators. The relationships formed through CEDIA are the ones that define long careers.
Design & Build Access
CEDIA's Design & Build outreach programme positions members in front of architects, interior designers, and project managers, the people who specify systems before a client is even selected.
Structured Education
From online learning to in-person training and formal certification, CEDIA provides the educational infrastructure that turns a tradesperson into a recognised professional.
