Doesn't the integrator already provide design?
Many integrators design well. The question is not whether a drawing exists. The question is whether one accountable design basis coordinates the room, the performance target, the architecture, the services, the trades and the final verification. Kolosseum can be appointed directly or engaged confidentially as the integrator's design partner.
Why should design be a separate professional fee?
An equipment proposal defines what will be supplied. A professional design appointment defines what the complete room must achieve, how it will be built and how the result will be judged. Keeping that scope visible makes the accountability visible.
Is this another consultant layer?
It is the layer intended to remove the gaps between the other layers. The value is not more meetings or more drawings. It is fewer assumptions reaching site.
Can Kolosseum review an existing design?
Yes, while meaningful decisions remain open. The earlier the review occurs, the more options remain available.
Who does Kolosseum work for on a project?
Most often, an integrator appoints us as a confidential design partner. We are also happy to be appointed by a client, architect, builder or another project party that understands the value of independent engineering. One party appoints us, and we coordinate the room, technology, services and documentation for the wider project team.
Do you sell any hardware or equipment?
No. We are a design-only consultancy. This independence is our core value proposition; it ensures every recommendation is made purely on technical merit and project goals, not on dealer margins or stock levels. We are paid to protect the outcome, not to sell the parts.
Can you review or commission systems designed by others?
Yes. We offer independent commissioning and performance review: near completion, the installed systems are checked against the documentation and the performance brief — pass, defect or recommendation — covering electrical coordination, network, control, calibration, rack construction, thermal management and handover records. Architects and builders can specify this review in the contract, independent of who installs.
How does the white-label partnership work?
We operate as a direct extension of your design team. After a project brief, we produce the full documentation set, including CAD drawings, schematics, and renders, using your company's title block and branding. We are the 'ghost' partner you brief to ensure your client receives a world-class result under your firm's name.
What standards do you design to?
For cinema and media rooms, we use published CEDIA/CTA-RP22 criteria where they apply and state video targets separately. Lighting and automation follow the relevant electrical, control and documentation requirements. Every project is assessed against its written performance brief; completed-room verification requires measurement.
