Krix Hyperphonix 45 Large-Format On-Wall Cinema Speaker
Krix Hyperphonix 45 — premium large-format on-wall cinema speaker with a 45° angled baffle for ideal screen channel placement in dedicated home theaters.
Overview
The Krix Hyperphonix 45 is the most capable speaker in the Krix angled on-wall cinema range, positioned above the Phonix 45 in the product hierarchy and below the Megaphonix in scale. Its defining feature is the 45° angled baffle, which directs the horn-loaded output toward the listening position when the speaker is mounted on a side wall or in a corner position. This geometry makes it particularly well suited to screen-channel placement in rooms where the speaker must be positioned off the speaker's primary axis — for example, where the left or right channel speaker cannot be placed directly at the screen edge. The Hyperphonix 45 employs a larger-format horn assembly than the Phonix 45, delivering greater output capability and extended low-frequency reach. All drivers and cabinet components are produced to Krix's exacting standards in South Australia. The Hyperphonix 45 is finished in Cinema Black and is a passive design requiring external amplification.

Integrating the Krix Hyperphonix 45 in a Home Cinema
At Kolosseum, the Hyperphonix 45 is specified when a client needs a high-output screen channel speaker but cannot position the enclosure directly facing the audience. The angled baffle provides a practical solution in rooms with unusual geometry or where the speaker must be mounted on a side wall adjacent to the screen.
Room Requirements
Installation requires sufficient wall space for the larger Hyperphonix 45 footprint. The 45° angle must be accounted for in mounting height and lateral positioning to ensure the horn output is correctly aimed at the primary listening zone.
Recommended Screen Pairing
The Hyperphonix 45 works with both masking-frame and fixed-frame screens, positioned to direct output at the screen plane from an angled mounting position. Kolosseum calculates exact positioning during the design phase.
Acoustic Considerations
Horn-loaded designs have inherent directivity that reduces room interaction. At angled placement positions, first-reflection control remains important and is addressed in the acoustic treatment specification.
Frequently Asked Questions About the Krix Hyperphonix 45 Large-Format On-Wall Cinema Speaker.
The Hyperphonix 45 uses a larger-format horn assembly than the Phonix 45, delivering greater output capability and extended low-frequency reach. It is the preferred choice for larger rooms or higher output targets where the standard Phonix 45 would be insufficient.
The 45° angled baffle is most valuable when the speaker must be mounted on a side wall or in a corner position rather than directly on the front wall facing the audience. This is common in rooms with unusual geometry, alcoves, or where the screen extends to the room's side walls.
The Hyperphonix 45 is an on-wall surface-mount design. For in-wall applications, Krix offers other variants including the Megaphonix In-Wall. Kolosseum can advise on the most appropriate format for a specific room design.
While primarily positioned as an LCR screen channel speaker, the angled baffle makes the Hyperphonix 45 capable in surround positions in very large rooms where greater output is needed than smaller Krix surrounds can provide.
