Kelsus
MOST REQUESTEDA complete drawing set for rooms up to three rows, with the addition of a photorealistic render. The scope most commonly issued for residential cinema installations where the client requires a clear visual before construction begins.
Three decisions that determine everything.
In cinema design, three variables are geometrically dependent on each other. Get one wrong and the others cannot compensate. The Kelsus package resolves all three before a cable is run, then adds a photorealistic render so the space can be visualised before any commitment is made.
Head Position
The reference seating position is placed to minimise interaction with room modes, the bass build-ups that accumulate at specific distances from boundaries. This single decision anchors every dimension that follows.
Screen Size
Screen width is derived from the viewing distance established by the head position, applied against the appropriate field-of-view standard for the intended content type. It is a calculation, not a preference.
Speaker Layout
Speaker positions are calculated from the reference position outward, angles, distances, and elevations derived from the geometry of the room and the requirements of the chosen format. Each channel is placed with dimensional precision.
Kelsus Deliverables
Optimised Speaker Placement
Up to a 9.1.6 speaker configuration, with precise dimensions for each speaker location referenced to the nominated seating position, front or rear row. Every channel is documented against the geometry of the space.
Photorealistic Render
A rendered visualisation of the finished space, produced from the design geometry. This is not an artist's impression, it reflects the actual specified dimensions and material finishes. Integrators use it to manage client expectations before construction begins.
Up to 3 Rows of Seating
The design accommodates multi-row configurations, with speaker geometry optimised for a nominated reference position. Seating rake and sightline geometry are resolved as part of the drawing set.
Documentation Standard
Drawings produced to the standard a competent installer can execute without calling us. If they need to call, the document is incomplete. We do not issue incomplete documents.

Walk the Space Before It's Built
An interactive tour of a completed Kelsus-documented cinema. Explore the geometry, speaker positions, and acoustic treatment as designed.
From Brief to Handover
Every engagement follows the same ten-step process. Select any step to explore it in detail.
Intake Form
You complete our structured intake form, room dimensions, construction stage, preferred format, budget range, and any known constraints. This replaces a lengthy discovery call and lets us prepare before we speak.
