How a $500K+ Cinema is Engineered to RP22
What RP XXII means.
CEDIA RP22 is the industry reference practice for residential cinema design. It defines proximity tolerances for every speaker channel in every supported codec — Dolby Atmos, Auro-3D, DTS:X Pro, and IMAX Enhanced. A cinema graded to RP22 is not a cinema that sounds good. It is a cinema that is provably correct.
The RP XXII engagement takes that standard as a floor, not a ceiling. The drawing set, the equipment specification, the acoustic treatment, the construction documentation, and the on-site commissioning are all produced to the same standard and verified against it before the project is closed.
This engagement is reserved for projects where the brief, the budget, and the client's expectations justify that level of commitment. It is not offered as an upgrade path from a standard package — it is a different kind of engagement entirely.
RP XXII Scope
One Engagement, Every Discipline
Acoustic design, speaker geometry, construction documentation, equipment specification, and commissioning are managed under a single engagement. There is no handoff between consultants. No scope gap. No instruction lost in translation between trades.
Reference-Grade Equipment
Equipment is specified to match the geometry and acoustic targets of the room — not the other way around. We work with Krix, Wisdom Audio, Ascendo, PRO Audio Technology, Trinnov, and StormAudio. Selection is driven by what the room requires, not by distribution relationships.
On-Site Until It's Right
Commissioning is not a day visit. We are on site for as long as the calibration requires. Every channel is verified against the RP22 proximity grade. The system does not leave our oversight until it performs to the brief.
