Overview
ASCENDO developed the Panoramic Surface On Wall around the acoustic demands of immersive cinema rather than adapting a conventional cone-and-tweeter layout. Its proprietary full-range composite radiating surface is designed to behave as a controlled acoustic surface, extending an exceptionally wide radiation characteristic to nearly 180 degrees into the high-frequency range, up to 20 kHz. For listeners, ASCENDO says this approach produces more consistent tonal balance across multiple seats, distributes height information more evenly, and makes surround effects less tied to an individual enclosure. The distributed surface is also intended to reduce the sharp rise in perceived loudness experienced by a listener seated close to a conventional surround or height speaker. The shallow on-wall format is intended to operate close to a wall or ceiling. That proximity can greatly reduce front-boundary speaker-boundary interference response and the additional reflection paths associated with angled or stand-off installations. The Panoramic Surface On Wall is most relevant where a conventional surround or height enclosure would create obvious localisation, uneven seat-to-seat tonality, or a near-seat level hotspot. Kolosseum would assess each surface speaker against the room geometry, seating offsets, channel spacing, and architectural boundary before fixing the final layout.

Final channel count, spacing, and aiming should be established from the room and seating plan. ASCENDO has not yet published electrical or output specifications, so amplifier selection and reference-level verification remain pending final manufacturer data.
Acoustic Considerations
ASCENDO intends the close-boundary format to reduce front-boundary SBIR and avoid reflection paths introduced by stand-off or angled speakers. The completed room should still be measured to verify coverage overlap, timing, level, and boundary interaction across every seat.
